Christmas traditions

We are starting to get excited and ready for Christmas around here! We have a few Christmas traditions, but would like to start more. I would love for you to leave a comment letting me know what your family does each Christmas that makes it memorable.

We try to put a scripture reference on each present we put under the tree. Sometimes there isn't one on every present, but we try. The fun part is that if we can, we try to put a hint as to what is inside the present without totally giving it away... otherwise we just put a favorite verse. When we open presents Christmas morning, we read the scripture before opening the present.

Adie, I sure love your blog! We are trying a new tradition this year. So far so good. . . my kids earn a dollar each Saturday if they do all their chores. That dollar goes in a special jar. In a few weeks they will take all the $ they have earned and buy a gift for a secret friend. We will wrap and leave them on their porch. I hope it teaches my kids about the joy of giving. By the way your house looks amazing! I have been saying that we have temple square right across the street. It is beautiful. My kids like to sleep with their blinds open so they can see the lights as they fall asleep. Great work!
