So I had an ultrasound yesterday. What we thought was a girl baby is actually a BOY! The ultrasound tech felt so sad and sick about the whole thing. She apologized over and over that she said we were having a girl during the first ultrasound. Curtis was sad when I told him, I could see the disappointment in his eyes and could hear it in is voice. He has wanted a girl since we found out about child #1. I was a wee bit sad, but have come to realize that Heavenly Father wants us to have boys. That's fine. Cannon was mad when we told him. He wanted Heavenly Father to change his brother back into a little sister. ;) I am okay with another boy. Christian will have a buddy close in age to play with. Plus, we already have a lot of boy items, so it will be cheaper overall. Although, I had purchased three girl items: a really cute jean dress, and two pairs of pajamas. Oh well, I can give those away as gifts.
I have had several people ask me if I am going to have another one after this one...to get a girl.?. Ummm, I am not going to just keep trying to have kids to get a girl. Knowing my luck, I would get a boy followed by another boy and another, and so on and so forth. You get the idea. My body is getting old and feels tired from having these four close together. I am okay if the final score reads: Browning Boyz 4 Girls 0. It will just have to be Curtis who takes them on all of the campouts and helps them earn their Eagle Scout awards...bam, bam, bam, bam. And takes them to all of the priesthood sessions. Sounds good to me! :) Four, handsome teenage boys...I kind of like the idea and image of that. :)

My Grandma Eva's Apple Cake Recipe
My grandma Eva (my mom's mom) passed away before I was born, yet her recipes live on! She created one yummy apple cake recipe! I used to not share this with anyone because it was a "family secret". I have since changed my mind and decided to share since so many people can benefit from the the deliciousness of this cake.
Grandma Eva's Apple Cake Recipe:
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup of Wesson oil (she always used this brand since she said it was the best)
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 jar of apples (with the juice - not always available in stores so when I find some, I stock up. *Note: do not use apple pie filling) or 3 cups of chopped apples (probably Fuji apples)
1 cup of raisins (optional) I never use raisins
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda
2 cups flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
Mix well and pour into greased and floured cake pan.
Bake @ 300 degrees for 1 hour.
*This cake is yummy warm out of the oven with some cream or ice cream on it. It is even better the 2nd day...it's so moist!!!
Enjoy!!!!

Hold On. Keep Trying. God Loves You.
“To any who may be struggling to see that light and find that hope, I say: Hold on. Keep trying. God loves you. Things will improve. Christ comes to you in His ‘more excellent ministry’ with a future of ‘better promises.’ He is your ‘high priest of good things to come.’ ”
—Jeffrey R. Holland, "An High Priest of Good Things to Come," Ensign,Nov. 1999, 36
