beginnings of spring

For the past few days, I have been going outside checking our yard for green. I get excited when I see the beginnings of spring flowers! Look at what I found today! I know yardwork is just around the corner...and I love it!!! Some people think that's weird...that I like yardwork.;) I love everything about it...mowing the lawn, planting and watching flowers flourish, watering flowers, pulling weeds, etc. Leave a comment and let me know if you can identify these flowers coming up.?. :)

Despite the snow...Spring really is just around the corner

Yesterday I went to the house where we used to live. As I was walking around the yard, I noticed the green coming up - the beginnings of daffodils. I was excited when I saw it! Despite the snow and wintery weather...spring really is just around the corner.

Carter and school

Today I told Carter that I signed him up for preschool...for next year. He quickly ran and put his boots on and his backpack. He is still wearing all of his gear four hours later. :)

Cannon's Prayer

Curtis and I thought Cannon's prayer tonight for family prayer was so cute, it was worth writing down.

"Dear Heavenly Father,
Help us to go to church(we always go unless someone is sick). Help us to be safe. Please bless the pet food(we went to the vet today to buy it). Please bless our pizza and breadsticks and root beer (that's what we had for dinner). Bless mom. Bless Carter. Bless Cannon. Bless Bobbin (our cat). Bless dad. Bless The Coat(that was the story we read from The Friend for FHE...and we watched it online again and again. I posted about it at the end of December)... :)

When...

One door closes...another door opens. That saying has been in my mind a lot lately. A door opened for our family today - and it is a huge blessing!

Happy 34th to Curtis!

HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CURTIS! He deserves a nice day more than anyone I know!!! He does so much for our family! He helps around the house a TON!!!! What more could a girl ask for?;) He mops the floor every Saturday, makes dinner often, does the dishes a lot (loads the dishwasher), helps with the boys so much!!! He is always willing to serve others too!!!Thanks for all you do Curtis!!! Hope you have a GREAT day!

We Needed a Miracle Today

Our family needed a miracle today. It didn't happen. I had never prayed so hard in my life for this miracle to actually go through and fall into place. I am very disappointed and frustrated because of it. Actually, I am quite disqusted with the whole situation. Here's hoping you had a better day than our family.

Homemade Thin Mint Cookies

I don't know about you, but my favorite Girl Scout Cookies are the thin mints. Girl Scout cookies will be available in Feb. (I already got my order in), but sometimes you just can't wait.

You need two ingredients (that's it):

Andes Chopped Mints (comes in a bag like a chocolate chip bag)

 + Ritz Crackers

Directions:

Melt 1 bag of mints for 1 minute in microwave, stir.

Drop Ritz cracker in chocolate, flip over with fork.

Lay on wax paper (tin foil works too).

Makes about 45 cookies.
